Lady Tigers Get Sticks Rolling at Right Time

The Lady Tigers traveled to Community Christian to play their last regular season games before playoffs. Union City got on the board first inning, Seniors Morgan Englebretson and Kennedy Sepulvado led off the game with two singles and came around to score on a Brionah O’Neal triple to the gap. (Sr.) Caitlyn Poage added to the offense with 3 RBI’s.

UC fell behind early, however, in the sixth inning they tallied 9 runs on many CCS miscues. The Tigers won the game by a score of 12-5.
In game two, both teams were held scoreless through the first two innings. But in the third, Kennedy Sepulvado had a base hit to right field scoring two. (Sr.) Jessica Whitehead and (Fr.) Brionah O’Neal also drove in two runs which helped the Lady Tigers to an 8-0 victory. (Soph) Livia Nelson gave up only 3 hits and the Lady Tigers defense did not commit any errors. In the final inning, Coach Schmidt put all four seniors in the infield together. (Soph) Suzie Gaytan and Brionnah O’Neal made a spectacular plays in the outfield to finish the Lady Tigers regular season on a high note and a record of 12-13. 

Playoffs begin tomorrow. The Tigers will travel to Ft. Cobb and play Sterling in the first round at 12:15.
