Multiple Teams · Union City Earns Tough Victory


Union City Tigers traveled to Verden on November 7th to play the first away game of the season. The Union City Tigers went head to head with the Verden Tigers and came out on top for their second win of the season.

Coming out with extreme intensity and readiness to play the Union City boys didn’t back down. The Verden Tigers made it a tough fight for our boys, both teams battling for the W all game. At the end of the 1st quarter with a score of 15-13, the UC Tigers were in the lead. Both teams kept battling for the lead until half time leaving the score 32-23 in favor of Union City.

After halftime, the Verden Tigers scored a total of 6 points in the third and the Union City Tigers were unable to put any points on the board. This made for an exciting final quarter of the game. In the fourth quarter, both Tiger teams battled back-n-forth but the boys in blue came out on top and won by a score 45-38.

(Senior) Xavier Morales lead the Union City boys to victory with 21 total points and teammate (Sophomore) Nando Pizano with 10 right behind him. (Senior) Cail Williams also added 9 points on the night.

Union City will be back in action on Friday, November 10th at Binger-Oney.
