Girls Varsity Basketball · Lady Tigers Fall to Minco

On December 1st the Union City Lady Tigers took on the Minco Lady Bulldogs at home. The Lady Tigers knew it was going to be a tough night as their rival, Minco traveled across the river. The Lady Tigers fell by a score of 45-25 but not before putting up a fight.

Going into the first quarter, the Lady Tigers managed to score 5 points with the help of Senior Alex Chipps sinking a 3 and Junior Hunter Johnson scoring 2 points. The Lady Tigers fell up short when the Minco Lady Bulldogs swooped in scoring 11 points. During the second quarter junior Hunter Johnson led UC scoring 6 points while senior Alex chips falling shortly behind with 3 points.

The Lady Bulldogs lead at halftime. During half time the Tigers had time to refresh and come back ready to hold them and that’s what they did. The Lady Tigers and the Lady Bulldogs both scored 6 points during the third quarter with a score of 33-22. During the fourth quarter Hunter Johnson scored 2 points with the help of kunior Livia Nelson making her free throw leaving Union City with a total of 9 points during the second half. The Lady Bulldogs came up on top leaving the score of 45-25.

The Lady Tigers will travel to Minco this Thursday as they will begin play in the Bulldog Classic.
