This Friday the Union City High School boys participated in the Wachita Valley Shootout. The Tigers took home 3rd place after beating Binger-Oney 56-43. The first half of the game was slow, only scoring 8 points in the first quarter. The game sped up after the half scoring 31 points, which was over half of the points of the game. Xavier Morales ended the game with a total of 25 points and Cail Williams with 12. Both of the seniors were awarded the All Conference Award.

The High School girls played against Corn Bible Academy the next day and won 5th place after finishing the game with a score of 43-28. In the first half of the game the Lady Tigers scored 25 points. In the second half Hunter Johnson scored 7 of the 9 points and ended the game with a total of 15 points. Alex Chipps also scored 16 points of the 43. Hunter Johnson and Alex Chipps were also awarded the All Conference Award.

Good job to both teams and congratulations to the All Conference players!

The teams will be back in action this weekend when playoffs begin. Union City will be hosting. The girls will play on Friday night looking to advance to the district championship game. The boys were awarded a bye and will play Saturday night.
