Tigers News · Busy Week for Spring Sports

Union City’s high school baseball team traveled to Geary for a quick game Tuesday, April 10th. With 15 runs to three in the fourth inning the match came to a fast stall. Casey Bieber (#14) smacked a line drive to center field in the top of the first inning with the bases loaded to send Brayden Reed (#3) and Wyatt Norton (#20) home, leaving Zane Robeaux (#12) at 3rd. After Hayden Casey (#22) came in for Casey Bieber, Jason Schieber (#4) hit a hard ground ball allowing Zane and Hayden to score two more points for Union City.

The same night, Okarche softball came to Union City for brief match. In the bottom of the first inning our Lady Tigers scored 16 runs off of six doubles; coming from Alex Chipps (#10), Rylee Loudermilk (#3), Arin Karbs (#20), Hunter Johnson (#0), Melody Turk (#51) and Allison Kaulaity (#2).  Okarche tried to battle back to no avail in the top of the third inning scoring five runs off of five errors and two walks.


The Lady Tigers traveled to Dover on Thursday and split, winning game one 12-1 and losing the second 5-4. Alex Chipps added her 7th homerun on the season as the Lady Tigers go into the weekend with a 16-12.

The Union City Baseball team won their round one contest against Bowlegs by a score of 13-0 and will continue play today at 3:00.
