Last night the Union City Lady Tigers traveled to Lookeba Sickles to take on #20 ranked Lady Panthers. Union City came into the game hoping to gain some momentum leading up to playoffs against highly ranked Arapaho. The Lady Tigers wasted no time jumping out on top in the first inning by scoring 2 runs. They took the lead for good by scoring nine runs in the third inning with the help of Alex Chipps when she hit a home run scoring three runs. Johns, Belcher, Turk, Corlee, Nelson, and Loudermilk all managed to get multiple hits for the Lady Tigers.

After Chipps’ home run she was intentionally walked three times in the next four innings. Alycia Johns lead the team in hits, smashing 4 out of the 5 at the plate. The Lady Tigers improved their record to 17-13 after beating Lookeba and in the same day Sr. Alex Chipps broke the home run record for Union City Softball.

Union City is back in action today in their regular season finale at Ninnekah vs the Lady Owls.
