Last night the Union City Lady Tigers took on the Verden Tigers looking to improve their record to 2-0. Which they successfully did. The Lady Tigers dominated the other Lady Tigers with a score of 67-25. The girls came out fired up and ready to go for their season home opener.
In the first quarter, UC effortlessly scored 33 points to 5. Before Verden could score their first points of the game, UC put up 25 to begin the game. The second quarter the girls added 14 more points to 11 points going into halftime. In the first half, leading the scores was senior, Hunter Johnson, with 16. Next was sophomores, Anyssa Morales and Laila Goad with 8 a piece.
The ladies came out of the locker room at halftime looking to seal the deal and did that, outscoring Verden 20-9 in the 3rd quarter. Union City won by a score of 67-25 improving their record to 2-0. In the second half, the leading scorer was Morales with 7 and Livia Nelson with 5.
Leading the night in scoring was senior, Hunter Johnson, with 18. Sophomore Anyssa Morales added 15 of her own.
