Tigers News · Union City Lady Tigers Fall Short

Friday night, the Union City High School basketball teams traveled to Minco. The Lady Tigers looked to improve their record but hit a snag as they dropped their 2nd game of the season.

The Lady Tigers gave the Bulldogs a run for their money in the first quarter. Hunter Johnson came ready to play, scoring eleven in just the first quarter, followed by Livia Nelson and Taytim Woods, scoring six together. Minco came back firing scoring sixteen. In the second quarter the girls only scored eight, six of those by Livia Nelson, and Minco tacked on nine. Making the score at half 25-25.

To begin the second half Livia Nelson drained a three, but the girls couldn’t keep it up only scoring six the third quarter. The Tigers came back scoring ten in the fourth quarter, six of those by Anyssa Morales, but that wasn’t enough to defeat the Bulldogs falling short by nine at the end. Making the Final score of the night 41-50.

The Tigers will be back in action in the Bulldog classic Dec. 6-8 at Minco High School.
