Last night The Union City Lady Tigers took on the Ninnekah Lady Owl at home for the final game before Christmas break. The game was very close the entire game, but the Lady Tigers were up by five at the end. The final score of the night was 50-45 in the favor of Union City.

In the first quarter both teams traded baskets. Hunter Johnson and Anyssa Morales tallied all twelve of the points scored for Union City. The Owls added ten of their own.

To get the second started, Livia Nelson and Taytim Woods drained a three each. The Lady Tigers defense held the Ninnekah Lady Owls to only three points. Once again the Tigers added 12 more points and went into halftime up 24-13.

Ninnekah attempted a come back in the second half scoring thirty-two points, but it wasn’t enough with the Lady Tigers scoring offense scoring a total of 50 on the evening. The Tigers took advantage of Ninnekah’s foul trouble by going 13-24 from the free throw line.

Hunter Johnson led the Lady Tigers with 21 points. Taytim Woods with 12. Anyssa Morales with 8. Livia Nelson with 5. Jamie Schieber with 4.

The Lady Tigers improved their record to 8-4. Union City will be back in action after Christmas break.
