Tigers News · Homecoming Hoorah 2019

Last Friday, was homecoming for our tiger teams. As our new queen and king got elected at the beginning of the night, the Tigers and Lady Tigers had some tough games to play later in the evening against the Southwest Covenant Patriots.

The girls played the first game, looking to start the night off right. The Lady Tigers were victorious by a score of 44-31. It was not easy though as they battled to the very end.

The Lady Tigers controlled the tempo in the first half. Livia Nelson came out hot, hitting 4 of her 5 three pointers in the first half and the Lady Tigers went into the locker room at halftime up by 11.

In the second half, UC continued the hot streak scoring 18 while the Lady Patriots only scored 16. SWC pulled it within three and had to begin to foul to send our Lady Tigers to the charity stripe. The ladies came out on top in the end of the game taking the win for homecoming 44-31. The Lady Tigers now have a record of 12-6.

The Union City boys dropped the second game of the night to the Patriots by a score of 75-33. The Tigers kept pace with the patriots in the first quarter but things turned in favor of the Patriots the rest of the night. The Tigers record fell to 5-12. Both teams will travel to the Paden Tournament at the end of the week.
