On April 4th, The Lady Tigers traveled to Okarche for looking for a win and came back with one. The Tigers ended the game with 8-0 victory. The ladies started off slow, but by the third inning, they scored the total of 4 runs. The gals dominated in the field leaving the Okarche Warriors with nothing. Livia Nelson dominated the rubber striking out the same girl 3 times. Emily Loughridge had a great RBI, leading the Tigers in for a run. Sabrie Locke hit a triple gaining another run for the Lady Tigers. Chelsea Morgan, Allison Kaulaity, Livia Nelson, Sabrie Locke, and Loughridge all collected multiple hits for the Union City Lady Tigers. The Tigers also had a JV game, where everyone got in and played a great game. The game all around was a terrific game for the Union City Lady Tigers.
Monday, April 8, the Lady Tigers had a great day in the batters’ box. Allison Kaulaity had a busy day at the plate, smacking four hits. The Union City Ladies won the game but allowed Geary to score. However, the game ended, 20-9. The first inning was a blast when the three hole, Brionah O’Neal, hit a triple, then followed by Allison Kaulaity with a double. The girls scored 4 runs in the first inning, then 2 more in the third. The Lady Bison’s tried to get their bats going as they scored 4 runs in the third inning, with Chelsea Morgan ending their attempt with a diving catch deep up the middle. The fourth was a big inning for the UC girls, Melodie Turk hit a homer bringing girls in. The girls scored 8 more runs all contributed by Chelsea Morgan, Melodie Turk, Livia Nelson, Arin Karbs, and Kenadee Belcher. Geary had a total of 9 in the fourth and left it at that for the rest of the game. The fifth and final ending the Tiger Girls scored 6 more runs. The UC Lady Tigers stacked up 30 hits. Morgan, Kaulaity, O’Neal, Belcher, Sabrie Locke, Baylee Schauer, Karbs, Nelson, Turk, and Erica Rodgers collected multiple hits for the team.
On a hot Tuesday afternoon, the Union City Lady Tigers played a 3- way against Verden, and Ninnekah. They first played Verden’s Tigers, run-ruling them ending the score at 15-0. The ladies got the bats moving as they swung with every ounce of sweat they had. The UC girls only played 2 innings, scoring 7 runs in each one, leaving the Verden Girls in the dirt with nothing. Anything that was close to a strike, and the plate the girls hit. Arin Karbs hit a home run bringing in more runs for the Union City girls.
Moving on to the second game of the day, the Lady Tigers beat class 3A #20 Ninnekah 12-0. Livia Nelson burned at the rubber. She allowed six hits, zero runs over four innings, and striking out one, and no walks. She also knocked down four hard balls hit to her and got each player out. The ladies got 4 runs in the second inning, then scoring 8 more in the fourth. The offense in the inning was led by Allison Kaulaity, Emily Loughridge, Sabrie Locke, and Brionah O’Neal. Also in the fourth inning, Sabrie Locke launched a homerun bringing in more runs.
The girls will be going to the Fletcher Tourney April 11. They play at 11. Come out and support the Lady Tigers.
