Boys Varsity Baseball Fall · Tigers Dominate at Home

The Union City Tigers dominated last Tuesday during their first home game of the season.  The Tigers crushed Verden with a score of 16-2. Seniors, Bryson Hays, and Caleb Reid led the team in hits with a combination of six hits. Sophomore, Shane McNeil toed the rubber. Verden got two runs in the first inning, but the Tigers had their heads in the game and came back with 5 runs of their own. The Verden Tigers were psyched out and weren’t able to get another run. The Tigers kept their momentum and got eight more runs in the second inning. Reid led the team in RBIs with 5 total.

  The Tigers were also victorious last Thursday when they beat Sante Fe South at home, by a score of 4-2. Leaving them with a record of 4-1 and are ranked 19th in class A. The Union City Tigers came prepared knowing Sante Fe would be a tough team to beat.  Senior, Caleb Reid was at the mound and had six strikeouts. Freshman, Braydon Armstrong led the team with three hits. Armstrong, Reid, and Hays also led the team in RBIs with one each. The Tigers will be back in action today against Sante Fe South at 4:30.
