The Union City Tigers had a busy week last week. They started off the week rough on Tuesday with a loss to Ninnekah at home. Senior, Caleb Reid pitched and had ten strikeouts. Senior, Bryson Hays got the teams only RBI and led the team in hits with two. Despite the boys’ efforts they fell behind and couldn’t come back losing 5-1.
The boys in blue turned things around on Thursday when they defeated Geronimo in a 3-1 win also at home. The Tigers started out the game slow and went down 1-0 in the top of the 4th. But the Tigers turned things around in the bottom of the 5th and scored two runs to go up on the Blue Jays 2-1. Senior, Reed Miller toed the rubber and got the win. He pitched 7 innings and struck out 7 batters. Senior Thomas Morris, Junior Joshua Morrison, and Miller led the team in RBIs with one apiece. Reed Miller also led the Tigers in hits with two.
You can catch the Tigers back in action at districts on Thursday. The boys are traveling to Am-Po and are scheduled to play Okarche at 12:30.
