The high school basketball teams have been busy starting up their season and with their second week wrapping up both teams are 2-1. Tuesday, Nov 5th, the Lady Tigers and Tigers traveled to Verden. The Lady Tigers dominated the game from the get-go outscoring Verden 52-18. Sophomore, Taytim Woods led the ladies with 19 points. Following her junior, Laila Goad, tacked on another 10 and sophomore, Kailee Jackson, brought up the rear with an additional 9 points. Woods and Goad also led the team at the charity stripe getting 3 apiece. The ladies really displayed their strength on the court. The win put the girls at a record of 2-0.
The Tigers were also victorious against the Verden Tigers. Senior, Nando Pizano, and sophomore, Skyler Kimberlin, led the boys in blue with 11 points each. Pizano also led the boys with 4 steals. Kimberlin led the Tigers with 14 rebounds for the night. The Tigers also ended the night with another victory of 45-36, improving their record to 2-0.
Both teams also traveled to Calumet on Friday night. Unfortunately, the Tigers and Lady Tigers fell short leaving both of their records 2-1. You can catch them back in action this Friday, Nov 15th, against at Binger starting at 6:30. Good luck Tigers!
