The Tigers have hit the ground running. With their record sitting at 5-2, and on a 3 game winning streak, there is no stopping the boys in blue this fall season!
The team has been putting in work day and night to continue dominating on the field. On the 18th, the Tigers fought hard against the Fletcher Wildcats out-hitting them seven to five but fell short. Sophomore, Braydon Armstrong and junior, Caleb McSpadden each got two hits to lead the Tigers on offense. Junior, Shane McNeil was on the mound.
The Tigers quickly bounced back and the boys dominated the Verden Tigers at home on Tuesday. The boys in blue won in blow out fashion with a 12-4 win. Verden got on the board in the first inning, scoring a run but Union City took the lead and held on tight in the third inning. The boys scored a run on a stolen base and sophomore, Tyler Norton doubled on 2-0 count, scoring two runs. Armstrong was on the mound, with four strike-outs. The Tigers racked up nine total hits. Senior, Lane Casey went 3 for 4 in hits leading the team. Senior, Joshua Morrison led the team in stolen bases with three in total.
The Tigers are looking forward to doing big things this fall season. Casey stated “I think this season is going to be better than it has in a while. This team’s chemistry is really hitting off and the amount of potential we have is really high. This season is for sure going to surprise everyone.” Casey and Armstrong lead the team in RBI’s with seven a piece.
The boys are back in action today playing in the Mulhall Orlando Tournament.
