Varsity Fast Pitch Softball · Lady Tigers Go 5-1 In Six Days

Written by: Joshua Morrison and Sabrie Locke

The Lady Tigers were looking to keep their four game winning streak alive, in which they did with a win over the Alex Lady Longhorns with a score of 15-3. The girls in blue had a rough first inning when the Longhorns kept bunting and they could not keep up with the Longhorns’ speed. But in the third inning the Lady Tigers had a huge inning. This inning was led offensively by Sophomore, Mackenzie Delong, Senior, Sabrie Locke, and Sophomore, Emily Griggs. All had RBI’s in the third inning.. DeLong got the call in the circle and only allowed two hits and had three strikeouts.

The game against Rush Springs was a heartbreaker for the girls in blue. The Lady Tigers lost the lead late in a 7-6 defeat. Sophomore, Emily Griggs got the start on the mound and she allowed seven runs on six hits. The girls had a huge 3rd inning where they tallied three runs with a RBI by senior, Sabrie Locke. Senior, Emily Loughridge and junior, Kylie McCoy led the team in hits with two a piece. The lead changed several times throughout the game and eventually the Lady Tigers had a two run lead but could not hold on to the lead going into the 7th inning.  In the 7th inning the Tigers stranded the tying run on first base. On the base path, Loughridge and Oceanna Schranz each had a stolen base apiece. The Lady Tigers finished the contest with five hits.

Mondays and Tuesdays game got rained out but hopefully soon the games will be rescheduled.

The Lady Tigers look to get a new winning streak alive when they travel to Binger to face the #1 team in the state on Thursday. Come out and support the Lady Tigers!
