The Union City Tigers had a 10-2 victory over Frontier on Saturday. The Tigers second inning pushed them over the top with seven runs.
In the first inning, the Tigers Varsity got their offense going. Sophomore, Braydon Armstrong drove in one when he doubled.
The boys in blue had a total of seven runs in the second inning. The inning was driven by walks from Shane McNeil (jr), Josh Morrison (sr), a single by Armstrong, a ground out by Tyler Ross (sr), and an error ball put in play by Brayden Denning (sr). McNeil, Ross, Denning, Armstrong, and Morrison led the big bats sending runners across the plate with RBIs in the inning.
When asked how he felt about the game, Morrison stated that “ The games this weekend were a little rough. We would get the bats going in an inning then just fall apart and couldn’t get the ball in play. But overall we kept our winning streak alive so I am satisfied. We are also playing good ball at the right time as playoffs are about to begin. ”
Shane McNeil was on the mound for the Tigers. He pitched six innings, striking out six and walking one. Armstrong led the boys with three hits in four at bats.
The Tigers are back in action tonight playing Ninnekah.
